Life in Hong Kong - Follow the Arrows

I returned from my trip to Hong Kong on Thursday and am still recovering from the jet lag. When I'm awake, I've been going through more of my pictures. Here are a few I found that I thought you all might find interesting. In a city with so many people, sometimes a little reminder is helpful for knowing which way to go. Signs with arrows indicating which set of stairs or escalators to take and which way to look before crossing the street can be found throughout Hong Kong. I'll admit the ones indicating which way to look did help me out a few times at the beginning of my trip.

Life in Hong Kong - Reminders of Home

Even though many things about Hong Kong are drastically different than the United States, there are some things that remind me of life at home. McDonalds, KFC, and 7-Eleven can be found in most shopping centers throughout Hong Kong. From time to time, I even come across places to sit down for a cup of coffee or a slice of pizza.

Life in Hong Kong - Getting Around

Living in Southern California, driving is not an option but a necessity. A simple visit to the supermarket or the gym requires getting in the car and driving to my destination. One of the best parts for me of coming to Hong Kong is that I have no need to worry about driving anywhere while here. The efficiency of the public transportation system along with my laid back agenda makes getting around a breeze. Here are a few shots from my daily journeys using Hong Kong's minibuses, buses, and subway.

Life in Hong Kong - Scenes from Stanley

My cousin and I headed to Stanley on an overcast day last week. Stanley is a fun place to hang out and take pictures, even on a gloomy day. Since I have been to Stanley during previous visits to Hong Kong, I wanted to make pictures with a different look and feel than those taken during my other visits. I took advantage of the cloudy day and focused on the details I saw while walking along the peninsula.

Life in Hong Kong - Cloudy Skies

Overcast skies are the norm this time of year in Hong Kong. From time to time, the cloud cover breaks allowing for some nice scenic images of the city. Here are few photographs from my time here thus far. I'm off to Malaysia and Singapore for a few days so will be offline for awhile. I hope to have some shots of my trip to share when I return later this week, talk to you all then.
